"Visiting Days" and "Kind" by Gretchen Primarck

Poet Gretchen Primack (2006 BMC resident) is sharing two of her most recent books, Kind (hardcover) and Visiting Days (soft cover), signed. 

Kind has been described as follows, excerpted from a review from Orion Magazine: 

Each poem is an aching missive written to and for animals; they are poems of love and protest that refuse to bow down to our ideas of which animals are worthy and which are less than, to separate what is “born for love or commerce.” Each poem dissolves and reshapes these divisions with inexhaustible empathy and a ferocious determination that pleads—even demands—kindness for all living beings.

Visiting Days is a full-length collection of persona poems, published by Willow Books, that is "set" in a maximum-security men's prison. Gretchen has taught and/or administrated with prison education programs since 2006.
